2
The students will...
Understand the water cycle and what it is.
Know the different stages of the water cycle.
Know what happens during each stage of the water cycle.
SC8.4.2.g Describe the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation)

What is the water cycle?

4
Evaporation
The sun heats the water changing it into vapor
Vapor goes up in the sky and that process is evaporation
happens on rivers, dams, lakes, etc.
5
Condensatiton
Vapor cools once it rises and turns into tiny droplets that form clouds
6
Precipitation
The droplets come together and they become bigger droplets and fall to the ground because of gravity
This is known as precipitation and this is how rain fall s produced
If it is even colder that is when sleet or snow are produced in the same process
7
Collection
The water falls to the ground and the sun heats it up and the cycle starts over again.
8
The Water Cycle
The route the water follows over the lands surface changing through different stages
-Evaporation: Water changes into vapor
-Condensation: The Vapor goes up to the sky, forming clouds
- Precipitation: The vapor cools forming tiny droplets
-Collection: The water falls to the ground and the cycle starts over
