  • ​Work out the profit first.

  • ​Profit is total sales - total costs.​

  • ​Work out the profit as a percentage of the total costs.

  • For example if I spend £10 on a teddy and sell it on ebay for £14

  • I have made £4 profit (14-10=4)​

  • ​(4/10) x 100 = 40% profit made.

​Fractions to percentages

  • ​To find 1/10th of a number you can convert this to a percentage.

  • ​1/10 = 10%.

  • ​You need to make a fraction over 100 in order to convert it to a fraction.

  • ​Alternatively with a calculator you put the fraction in and press '=' then SD.
