Multiple Choice

Lee charges $3 for a basket and $2.50 for each pound of fruit picked at the orchard. Write an equation in y = mx + b form for the total cost of x pounds of fruit from the orchard.
1
y = 3x + 2.5
2
y = 2.50x + 3
3
y = 2.50x
4
y = 3x + 2.50

Multiple Choice

You plan to go snowboarding. The resort charges $15 an hour in addition to $25 to rent a board. Write an equation that represents the cost to go snowboarding for the day.
1
y=15x-25
2
15x+25y=100
3
25x+y=15
4
y=15x+25

Multiple Choice

A man is climbing down from 100 feet high descending 30 feet per minute.
1
y = 100 - 30x
2
y = 100 + 30x
3
y = 100x + 30
4
y = 100x - 30

Multiple Choice

Jenny went to the sale at Kohl's last weekend.
T-shirts were on sale for $15 each and hoodies were on sale for $20 each.  If she spent $150 total, write an equation to represent this situation.
1
20x + 15 = y
2
35x = y
3
15x + 20y = 150
4
150 - 20x = 15y

4x + 5y = 10.80

3

4x - 5y = 10.80

4

4x + 10.80y = 5
