​ A sacred agreement between God and His people.

​Section 2 - Second and Third Migrations

​Prophet who led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. Was raised as an Egyptian by pharaoh's daughter. Talked to God through a burning bush in the desert. Led Hebrews on third migration (Exodus); Egypt to Canaan.

​10 Plagues of Egypt

​Series of horrible events predicted by Moses to the pharaoh that convinced the pharaoh to free the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt.

​Exodus

​The journey the Hebrews took from Egypt back to Canaan, led by Moses. Judaism became much more organized during this journey as the Hebrews received commandments from God.

​Ten Commandments

​ The first ten religious laws given to the Hebrews by God through Moses during the Exodus. Made Judaism an organized religion.

​Son of David. Third king of Israel. Solomon was known for his wisdom and for building the First Temple in Jerusalem. The kingdom split into two parts after his death.

​Assyrians

​ Group of invaders from Mesopotamia who conquered the northern kingdom of Israel.

​Babylonians

​Group of invaders from Mesopotamia that conquered the southern kingdom of Judah (Judea). Carried many Hebrews to Babylon as slaves.

​ Group that conquered the Babylonians and gave the Hebrews their freedom.
