Why Cats Purr
Cats purr to show you that they are being freindly, relaxing, and when they are grooming or nursing.

How Cats Land On Their Feet
Cats have a righting effect, which allows them to turn while in the air, so they land safely on their feet. Using their sensitive ears, they are able to maintain balance and orient themselves, so they are not injured from a fall.
5
How Cats See In The Dark
Night Vision - Cats cant see fine detail or rich color, but they have a superior ability to see in the dark because of the high number of rods in their retina that are sensitive to dim light. As a result, cats can see using roughly one-sixth the amount light that people need.

Why Cats Have Whiskers
Whiskers are specifically sensory equipment that guide a cat through daily functions. These specialized hairs aid vision and help a kitty navigate his environment, providing additional sensory input, much like antennae on insects. "Allthough whiskers are called "tactile hairs", they don't actually feel anything."
