​Litt forklaring på norsk først...

​I 1620, var det folk i England som ville ha et bedre liv. Amerika hadde blitt oppdaget, det het den nye verden. Da tenkte disse menneskene at de kunne starte et nytt liv i den nye verden. De er kjent som "pilgrims".

Det var 102 av dem som reiste på et skip som het​ "The Mayflower".

​Da pilgrimmene ankom den nye verden, var det egentlig allerede noen som bodde der. Det var "The Native Americans/Indians".

Uten hjelp fra Indianerne hadde pilgrimmene aldri kunnet overlevd ​i denne nye verden for de visste ikke hvordan de kunne dyrke mat eller finne vann.

Den første Thanksgiving skjedde ett år senere, i 1621. Det var en 3 dagers feiring for å takke Indianerne for hjelpen.

​Nå, er Thanksgiving en viktig feiring der man er takknemlig for ALT det gode i livet, venner, familie, at man har jobb, at man har tak over hodet osv.

Thanksgiving er alltid den fjerde torsdagen i November.​
