LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Understand and define what a computer program is.
2. Understand and define what Artificial Intelligence(AI) is.
3. Identify and categorize what computers can do that humans cannot and vice versa.
4. Critic the relevance of the Turing test with regards to the current state of AI.
5. Understand the purpose of Artificial Intelligence and illustrate how it could be applied to their daily lives.

4
Let's discuss
1. Are computers intelligent?
2. How would you decide if a computer is intelligent or not?
3. Can computer processing speed and accuracy be used to justify computer intelligence over humans?
4. If humans do not write a set of codes to computers, can computers perform any tasks?
5
Before we proceed with our lesson please watch a short video about computers.
6
These are things that computers do better than humans
1. Analyze large data/information.
2. Work non-stop 24/7. (Perform repeated operations/actions without getting tired, bored, hungry or sleepy.)
3. Follow instructions to the letter.
7
These are things that computer cannot currently do
1. Handle abstract concepts.
2. Handle emotions.
3. Be self-aware
8
Artificial Intelligence: the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as language understanding, visual perception and decision-making
9
The Turing test
The Turing test was developed by Alan Turing in 1950.
It's a test of a computer's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior that is equivalent to human intelligence.
He proposed that human evaluator would judge natural language conversations between a human and a human and a computer designed to generate human-like response.
10
The Turing test
If the evaluator cannot reliably tell the machine from the human, the machine is said to have passed the test.
The test does not check the ability to give correct answers to questions, only how closely answer resemble those a human would give.
11
The Turing test example
Is this a conversation between a human and a human or a human and a computer?
let's discuss WHY?
