Artificial Intelligence: the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as language understanding, visual perception and decision-making

The Turing test
The Turing test was developed by Alan Turing in 1950.
It's a test of a computer's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior that is equivalent to human intelligence.
He proposed that human evaluator would judge natural language conversations between a human and a human and a computer designed to generate human-like response.

The Turing test
If the evaluator cannot reliably tell the machine from the human, the machine is said to have passed the test.
The test does not check the ability to give correct answers to questions, only how closely answer resemble those a human would give.
