Carbon Cycle Cont.
3
Recap
What do all living things have?
What if it comes from an animal, like wool?
What if it once was living, like fossil fuels?
4
Carbon in the spheres
Let's list make a list!
Using the paper at the front table, write down 2-3 examples of carbon for every sphere.
We will be sharing these with the class.
5
Movement of carbon
Carbon cycles through the spheres, similarly to water.
How can carbon travel through the spheres? Let's look at two spheres at a time.
6
Biosphere to Atmosphere
Let's take a few minutes to brainstorm how carbon may exit the biosphere and enter the atmosphere.
What answer(s) did you get?
7
Atmosphere to Hydrosphere
Once again, let's take a few minutes to brainstorm how carbon may exit the biosphere and enter the atmosphere.
What answer(s) did you get?
8
Atmosphere to Hydrosphere
Once again, let's take a few minutes to brainstorm how carbon may exit the biosphere and enter the atmosphere.
What answer(s) did you get?
What did we learn yesterday about ocean water?
9
Biosphere to Geosphere
Let's try one more!
How could the biosphere move to the geosphere?
10
Biosphere to Geosphere
Let's try one more!
How could the biosphere move to the geosphere?
What sphere are fossil fuels in?
What are fossil fuels made of?

Carbon Cycle Project
For this project, our groups will be making the carbon cycle using pictures. We're using big, white pieces of paper. Make sure you draw/write neatly!
After you draw and label your cycle, you're going to cut them up and turn them into puzzles!
Each group will get a puzzle that isn't their own, your goal is to place all the pieces back together.
