Education for Music Educators
A bachelor's degree is needed for most basic music education positions. This is 4 years of post-secondary schooling.
If you teach private lessons to younger students, a degree isn't necessary.
If you teach at the collegiate level, a master's or doctoral degree will be required. A master's is 2 extra years of schooling, and a doctorate can be anywhere from 3-4 extra years of schooling.
