​Purpose Clauses show why something happens

​For example:

​

​I am studying so I'll get a good grade on my test.

​They're saving money to go to Europe.

​In order to protect the children, social services was called.

​Turn the oven down so that your bread doesn't burn.

​Be careful not to trip.

​I'm going to work hard so that doesn't happen again.

​Will you come over for dinner? (for the purpose of eating dinner)

​

​All of these things are happening ON PURPOSE.
