What do you mean by base?

The base is to be multiplied by itself.

An exponent tells how many times the base is used as a factor to form the product. It is written at the right side above the number (base).

What do you mean by exponentiation?

The process of repeated multiplication.

or 3 X 3 X 3 X 3

​         3⁴ = 81     or      3 X 3 X 3 X 3 = 81 

             So, 81 + 6 = 87 marbles in all

How can we get the value of a number involving an exponent?

​We can get the value of an exponential number by multiplying repeatedly the base according to the number of its exponent. The repeated multiplication is called as exponentiation and its answer is called as power.
