​Future Simple

We use the future simple with 'will' to predict the future. We can use it for future facts and for things that are less certain.

• The sun will rise at 7am.

• I think Brazil will win the next World Cup.

​We often use 'be going to' to talk about our future intentions and plans. Also to talk about things that are probably going to happen with more certain.

- Look at those boys playing football! They're going to break the window.

-The sky is getting darker and darker. It's going to rain.

​The negative form of 'will' and 'be going to' is will not (won't) and be not going to.

​

​- My brother will not do the dishes.

​

​- I'm not going to go to Santa Catarina.
