​today we will start our addition unit. this is how addition works. You start with the biggest number and add the smallest number to the biggest number lets try it out on the next slide.

​steps for addition

​1. take the biggest number ( example 17 )

​2. then take the smallest number ( example 3 ) and add it to 17

​3. so 17+3=20
