Preposition

Prepositions are used to connect different nouns, pronouns and phrases in sentences. A preposition is placed before a noun or a pronoun to show its relationship with something else in the sentence.

A conjunction is a part of speech that connects two words, phrases, clauses or

sentences.

Conjunctions

She is clever but shy. (Here, ‘but’ joins the two words clever/ shy)​

“She dropped the bowl and it shattered.” (Here, ‘and’ is connecting the two set of words (clauses)).

She went for a run, although we told her not to. (Here, the main clause (set of meaningful words) is joined by although to the dependent clause-we told her not to).
