This is an incorrect stereotype (or image) that we need to avoid in order to be respectful of the Native American people. They are people just like you and me: They wear modern clothing, do all kinds of jobs, and shop at modern stores!

In 1830, the U.S. government passed a law called the "Indian Removal Act." This forced Native Americans to give up their land.
