Since ancient times, human beings have used animals for travelling from place to place or transporting goods. Before modern vehicles were invented animals were perhaps the only means of travel on land.

In the cold region like Himalayas, yaks and reindeer are used as means of transport. They are strong and can bear the extreme cold. In the extremely cold Arctic region, which remains snow covered throughout the year, people travel in carts drawn by dogs. These are called sledges.

​FACT FILE....

The kings and the queens used to travel on elephants. The elephants were decorated and special seats were placed on them for the members of the royal family to sit comfortably. Elephants were also used during wars.

SENSITIVITY TOWARDS ANIMALS....

​Animals can not speak like us. So while we use them as means of transport or to carry loads, we should make sure that we do not treat them badly.

  • they should get food on time

  • they should be kept clean

  • ​they should also be get proper rest

  • we should not burden them with too much weight

  • we should be kind to them​

The money that we pay to buy goods is called currency.

Different countries have different currencies.

Currencies includes both notes made of paper and coins made of metals.​

This is the symbol of rupees. Rupees is the currency of India. In India the currency notes are available for 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000.

The 1 rs. note and all the coins are issued by the Finance Ministry of India. Coins are the denominations of 50 paise, 1 rs, 2 rs, 5 rs, 10 rs

The Reserve Bank of India or RBI issues all the currency notes in the country except 1rs note.
