Figurative Language
Simile - Comparing two things using like or as.
Metaphor - comparison between two unlike things that state on thing IS another.
Allusion - referencing or comparing something or someone to a famous event or person from history, literature, pop culture, etc.

Alliteration - the repetition of the first consonant sound in 2 or more words
Onomatopoeia - when a word sounds like the sound it is naming (ex: buzz)
Connotation - the second, suggested meaning of a word
Denotation - the literal dictionary definition of a word
