Water supports life of every living thing.

Our bodies are made of a large percentage of water without which we would perish.

Apart from keeping us alive , water has many uses.

Water uses in Our homes

We use water every day for cleaning ourselves and our clothes as well as the house and the dishes.

we need for drinking and cooking .

we use it to water our plants.

​The water we use in our homes is portable water.

This means filtered and fit to drink .

Water that is used in garden and in public parks usually unfiltered water and not fit to drink.​

Use in industries

Large amount of water every day as araw meterial in their process. They use as solvents .

They use it for cleaning , generating steam for electricity turbines and for cooling towers, which cool the machinery.

Water is used to generate electricity for homes and industry.

Dams are built on rivers and the water falls from a height to work the hydraulic turbines.. water turbines are rotating machinary, which covert the enery of water falling into electic enery.

They generate electric power.​

Farmers need to have an irrigation system in place to make sure that the fields get enough water supply for the crops to grow properly.

To irrigate their fileds , they may channnel water from rivers and streams through canals, channels and pipes or pump ground water through tube wells run on electricity.

They may also use sprinkler from the water supply.​

For transportation

Boats , ferrirs and ships have been used for a long time to move people and goods from one place to another.

Most important cities in India and in the world wide built along rivers or coasts..

These cites flourished because they could get food supplies and goods and move armies and people around.​
