VENN DIAGRAMS
1.
The "Only Me" Zone

The left and right sides of the circles are for things that are unique.

2.
The "Both" Zone (The Overlap)

The middle part where the circles overlap is like a bridge. This is for things that fit into both groups at the exact same time

3.
The "Neither" Zone

The empty space outside the circles is for things that don't fit anywhere

NESTED VENN DIAGRAM
The "All" Rule (The Inside Circle)

The smaller circle inside represents a specific group where every single member also belongs to the bigger group.

  • Example: If the big circle is "Animals" and the small circle inside is "Dogs."

  • How to read it: "All dogs are animals." You can't be a dog without being inside the "Animal" circle.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

HIERARCHY
Think of a Hierarchy like a family tree or a set of "level-up" boxes. It is just a way to organize things from top to bottom, starting with the biggest, most general group and moving down to the smallest, most specific group
1. The "Big Boss" (The Top Level)

The thing at the very top is the Category. It is the widest group that includes everything below it.
2. Moving Down (The Branches)

As you follow the lines down, the groups get smaller and more specific.

-The Rule: Everything on a lower level is a "part" of the level above it.

3. Side-by-Side (The Peers)

If two boxes are on the same level, they are equals. They both belong to the same "boss" above them, but they are different from each other.

-Example: 5th Grade and 4th Grade are side-by-side. They both belong to the "Elementary School" box above them.
