4. Plot: Why is it so Important?

​When you pay attention to the plot, you understand what happens in the beginning, the middle, and the ending of the story.

You have read the story.

​You know the setting.

​

You know​ who or what the characters are.

​

You know the mood, or you felt the mood.​

​

You understand the plot: every event, action, and problem/conflict​ that occurred in the story. You even know how the ending went.​

To focus on the plot of a story, we will be reading the tall tale "Pecos Bill"
