​classification of business activity

in the economy, there are different types of business activities that are performed on a daily basis. they are divided into three different sectors of the economy:

• primary sector

• secondary sector

• tertiary sector

​primary sector:

​this consists of the extraction of raw materials which are then processed in the next sector. for example, coal, oil, cotton, fish

​secondary sector:

​this sector is concerned with the manufacture and process of raw materials into finished goods, for example, food processing, textile industry, construction

​tertiary sector:

​the third part of the economy is directed more towards the product services that businesses provide.
