​In Poland there is a democratic system, which means that the power is in the hand of the people. Our president is Andrzej Duda, who has been in power since August 6, 2015.

​Warsaw is the capital of Poland. Its symbol is "syrenka warszawska", it has its own statue - a mermaid wielding a sword and holding a shield in its other hand.

Poland's neighbours are Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Russia.​ The longest border is with the Czech Republic - 796 km.

​Poland is a Christian country. For Polish Catholics, the role model is Karol Wojtyła, known as Pope John Paul II.

​Pierogi is a famous Polish dish. There are many types of that dish, but the most popular is "pierogi ukraińskie".

​The most popular sport in Poland is football. The most popular Polish athlete is Robert Lewandowski. He's playing for a soccer club Bayern Monachium. He is also the capitan of Polish representation.

Poland has access​ to the Baltic Sea.

The longest river is the Vistula river with the lenght of 1047 km.

On the border with Belarus​ there is the Primeval Forest Białowieża with the area of 1500km2. It has been on the UNESCO list since 1976. Poland is the only​ country in Europe to have a desert, it is "Pustynia Błędowska". Its area is 33km2.

​The Tatra Mountains are located on the Border with Slovakia. The highest peak is Gerlach, 2655m high.

In Poland we are​ obliged to go to school until the age 18. We have 8 years of elementary school and 4-5 years of high school. Studies are not compulsory. Marks are rating on a scale 1-6 ( 1 being the worst and 6 being the best grade).
