Of the elements found in the human body, four of them make up the largest percentage of our body weight (96.2%): oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen.

The oxygen molecules are mainly part of the water in our body (H2O). In fact, over half of the human body is made up of water (50-70%).

Let's come up with a Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning together.

How will this effect the body?

  • Structural Proteins- noodles

  • Antibodies- fork/spoon/knife picking up viruses (marshmallows)

Who's the Best Macromolecule?

You will create a poster for the macromolecule of your choice.

·       You can do it on paper or on Google Slides.

·       It must include the following:

  • o   function (what's their job/purpose)

  • o   structure (draw or insert a picture)

  • o   where they are produced in the cell (which organelle)

·       You must complete a CER report

o   Claim- _______ is the best macromolecule.

o   Evidence- Choose a specific macromolecule from your type (ex. protein → insulin)

o   Reasoning- Write why your evidence proves your claim. You can use if-then statements.
