Modal verbs
Modal verbs give a special context or intention to a normal sentence when it is added. They are functions of language. Let's do a quick review.

You must remain silent when the boss is giving the report during the meeting.
He must be very happy with the salary rise.

It is used to give recomendations, solutions, advice, from a persona point of view
Modal Verb:
SHOULD
You shouldn't read books with the lights off.
We should me more tolerant and respectfull towards others opinions

You use it to give recommendations or solutions to others, but from an ethical or social perspective. However, should and ought to are used to give advice indistinctively.
Modal verb OUGHT TO

It is used to express like a warning to a person.
It is always used in past (had); its contraction is 'd.
