What is fact?

Fact - is something that can be verified through observation and research.​

The following guidelines will help you verify statements of FACT:

1. If possible check facts through personal observation.

2. If personal observation cannot be done, you may consult a reliable source.

   -Use Reference materials like an encyclopedia.

3. Statement of obligation – it tells us how things should be. Words such as should, ought to, and must be are common in statements of obligation.

What is an opinion?

The opinion is any statement that cannot be proven with obsolete certainty. ​

An opinion can be expressed in any of the following ways.​

1. Judgment- it is an opinion about the value of something. Judgments use adjectives such as beautiful, good, better, worst, and bad. The words probably I think, possibly, it seems that, and apparently, also show an opinion.​

The trolls are probably more clever than giants.

2. Prediction – it is a statement about what might happen in the future. Until something has actually happened or failed to happen, you cannot prove these statements to be true or not.
