My name is Mr. Stevens. "Mr. Stevens" is a proper noun. I have a son. My son is a person, so he's a noun. His name is James and "James" is a proper noun.
A proper noun is the name of a person.

I don't always teach at an elementary school, but when I do it is at Hancock Place Elementary School.
I hope you noticed that some words are spelled with lowercase and uppercase!

Look at these two sentences:
In the first sentence the person's name was capitalized, but in the second sentence it wasn't!

The right way!

Do you see what's wrong in the second sentence? Is the person's name capitalized? Is a thing that shouldn't be capitalized, also?
