​Sentence Agreement:

In a sentence, the subject and the verb need to "agree".

What does that mean?

​Plural Subjects take Plural Verbs

She walks to class.

​

He sounds terrible.

​

The plumber fixes the leak.

​

​My friend plays outside.

Singular Subjects take Singular Verbs

Fill in the Blank

Fill in the correct verb:

​I and You

Even though I and You are singular, they use the same verb forms as plurals in regular verbs.

I look at the picture.​ My friends look at the picture.

You find a seat. They find a seat.​

I AM sorry to say that irregular verbs ARE different.

Combine subjects with AND

Two singular subjects combined with "and" use a plural form of the verb.

The zookeeper takes care of the elephants.

His assistant takes care of the bears.

The zookeeper and his assistant take care of the monkeys together.​
