Defined:

A prepositional phrase begins with a preposition and ends with a noun or a pronoun called the object of the preposition.

How to remember/identify prepositions:

Sometimes, not always, prepositions can show the relationship between a bunny and a log/boy and a chair.

The rabbit is in the log. ​The boy is on the chair.

Other prepositions aren't as easy to identify; unfortunately, these you just have to learn and be able to recognize: of, about, to, etc. ​
