Romans vs Jews

  • Until Hadrian Jews were allowed to worship God

  • Jews started to rebel against Roman Rule and refused to acknowledge Roman gods

  • In areas such as Judea and Galilee life was difficult for Jew under Roman governors such as Herod(same Herod from Bible at time of Jesus's birth)

  • After an unsuccessful Jewish rebellion the Temple of Jerusalem was burned and Jews were spread to other areas of the Empire

  • At the time of Jesus Roman rules were worried about the following Jesus was gaining because Romans wanted to ensure peace.

  • This leads to Jesus's arrest and crucifixion to avoid another Jewish uprising
