When do we use
Things which are happening at the moment of speaking:
ie. The water is boiling now, so you can put in the pasta.
Temporary situations:
ie. Julie is living in Paris for a few months (usually she lives in London).
To describe what is happening in a picture:
ie. The woman is sitting next to the window.
Present Continuous
Things which are always true:
ie.Water boils ate 100º
Permanent situations (or nearly permanent; true for a few years at least):
ie. Julie lives in London.
Habits or things we do regularly:
ie. I drink coffee every morning.
