Reglar verbs in simple past

Construction:

When we want to use a regular verb in simple past, the general rule is adding ED to the verb:

Play = Played

I played soccer yesterday​

However...

when the verb already ends in E we just add D:

Dance= Danced

Maria Jose danced champeta

When the verb end in consonat + vowel + consonat we double the consonant and add ED:​

stop = stopped ​

Verb ending Consonant + Y

​If the verb ends in Y and before ​you have a consonant, you change the Y for I and ad ED:

Study = StudiED

BUT: Play = ​Played
