This is an example of both definitions of the principle, movement.
Here, the artist shows the figures dancing, we can tell they are moving because the shapes and lines he used for the arms of the people.
The artist also helps us as the audience to move around and look at the entire artwork by following the organic yellow shapes. Think of it as the yellow brick road.
Matisse: Sorrows of the King
In this artwork the artist if obviously showing us movement.
He uses space to show us how the tree is moving and how the road is curving away from the wind.
He is also using implied lines to show us the direction of the wind.
The cool color scheme also makes the audience think of a cool, windy day.
