2
What is Narrative Writing?
Writing a narrative is essentially the same as writing a story. A narrative can be fiction or nonfiction, or anything in between, such as a semi-autobiographical story, historical fiction, or a dramatic recounting of true events.
3
What are the Elements in Narrative Story?
Narrative stories have exactly 6 elements. These 6 elements are:
Setting
The Plot
The Conflict
Th Characters
The Resolution
Climax

Setting

Setting refers to the period and place in which a literary work is set. A setting might be a true time period and physical place, or it can be a fictitious universe with an unknown time period.
For example, "Maycomb was an old town, but it was a tired old town when I first knew it. In rainy weather the streets turned to red slop; grass grew on the then sidewalks, the courthouse sagged in the square..".
5
The Plot
A strong plot is centered on one moment—an interruption of a pattern, a turning point, or an action—that raises a dramatic question which must be answered throughout the course of the story. This is also known as plot A.

The Conflict
-These issues are known as conflict in fiction. More precisely, conflict means thwarted, endangered, or opposing desire. It occurs when a character desires something but is thwarted by something else. Perhaps the character desires something but is unable to have it.

The Characters
A character in a story is a person or other entity (such as a novel, play, radio or television series, music, film, or video game). The character may be entirely fictional or based on a real-life person, in which case the distinction of a "fictional" versus "real" character may be made.

8
The Resolution
The resolution is the end of the story. It occurs after the CLIMAX. It is when you learn what happens to the characters after the CONFLICT is resolved.

9
Climax
The story's CLIMAX occurs when the PLOT'S CONFLICT is resolved. When the hero saves the princess, discovers the buried treasure, or slays the monster, it is often the most exciting portion of the story. Imagine yourself climbing a mountainside while reading a narrative. The CLIMAX is the highest point on the mountain.

Linear Narrative
Linear narrative is when a story follows a sequence of chronological events without straying away from it. This can be made through any narrative perspective like First person, second person, third person, the many types of linear narrative writing makes the reader get lost in the life of the protagonist.

13
Non- Linear Narrative
The events of a non-linear narrative are told in reverse order, with flashbacks and other literary devices used to change the story's chronology. A short story, novella, or book may fracture the timeline of the story to emphasize the emotional attitude of a personal account or to make thematic parallels between noncontemporary events.

Quest Narrative
In a quest story, the protagonist strives to achieve a certain goal. The pursuit of this goal will very certainly become their life's work, and they will face tremendous obstacles along the way.

Viewpoint Narrative
The main character's or other fictional characters' points of view or subjective experiences are expressed in a viewpoint narrative. In viewpoint narrative writing, moods, feelings, and other sensory elements are mediated via the narrator's own life and subjective point of view. This narrative style is commonly articulated as first-person narration or third-person omniscient narration, in which the omniscient narrator switches between the POVs and private thoughts of numerous major characters. This type of story allows for an untrustworthy narrator, in which the person telling the story gives biased and untrustworthy information. The untrustworthy narrator is either intentionally or unintentionally deceptive (e.g., a well-known liar or trickster).
