Case #1: Adding
The Case of the Extra Extras
A movie company is coming to Star City. It promised to used the people in town as extras in the film. The company sent letters telling the people when to come to the set. But today tomany people came to the movie set. There were so many extra extras there was no room for the real stars. The mayor want to know who is behind this mix-up.
Who mixed up the extras? How do you know?

I saw 30 people carrying shopping bags. Then, 70 more shoppers came on the set! That is 110 in all! Too many shoppers!

There were lots of children on the set today. I counted 25 boys and 25 girls. Did they really need all 50 children on the same day?

I saw on of the extras at the post office. He asked for 50 stamps, and then 45 more. That's 95 in all, so of course too many people showed up.

My letter told me to wear a red hat. When I got there, I saw there were 40 of us in red hats. There were also 21 people in green hats. That means there were 61 people in all wearing hats on the set!

I saw on of Will's workers buying 36 dog bones. But I only see 9 in the bin now. Maybe the worker used the missing 25 bones to keep the dogs from going to the circus.
