In Spanish, an irregular verb is any verb that does not follow the same rules or patterns of regular verbs.

Like regular verbs, irregular verbs have a stem and an ending.
Irregular verbs follow the same ending-pattern of regular verbs.
Unlike regular verbs, the stem of irregular verbs is modified.
Some irregular verbs have different endings for the first person singular 'yo'.
First person plural 'nosotros' never has a stem-change.
