Identify a limited number of of absolutely essential learning outcomes, & work together to ensure all students master them.

Coordinate the curriculum & teach the major units of study at the same time. Some standards will be named essential, and hope most students master them.

Essential standards cannot be agreed upon.

All standards are essential.

How will you know when each student has acquired the essential knowledge and skills?

Team-created Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) measure student learning on every one the team's essential standards.

The same End of Unit Assessments (DEUAs) are given.

Each classroom has its own individual pacing or its own assessment.

How do teams determine that best way to reteach an essential standard?

Compare results on CFAs to determine which instructional practices were most effective.

Share ideas about how we like to teach the standard.

Rarely discuss or share instructional practices.

How do teams respond when some students do not learn, & how is learning extended for students who are already proficient?

Team's take collective responsibility for every student's success, so students are shared for interventions & extensions.

Students are shared from time to time for interventions & extensions, but generally students are kept in homerooms.

"My students" & "Your students" are kept separated & responsibility is focused toward homeroom teacher
