In regards to PLC Q1:

What knowledge, skills, & dispositions should every student acquire as a result of this grade-level?

• Identify a limited number of of absolutely essential learning outcomes, & work together to ensure all students master them.

• Coordinate the curriculum & teach the major units of study at the same time. Some standards will be named essential, and hope most students master them.

• Essential standards cannot be agreed upon.

• All standards are essential.

How will you know when each student has acquired the essential knowledge and skills?

• Team-created Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) measure student learning on every one the team's essential standards.

• The same End of Unit Assessments (DEUAs) are given.

• Each classroom has its own individual pacing or its own assessment.

How do teams determine that best way to reteach an essential standard?

• Compare results on CFAs to determine which instructional practices were most effective.

• Share ideas about how we like to teach the standard.

• Rarely discuss or share instructional practices.

In regards to PLC Q3 & Q4:

How do teams respond when some students do not learn, & how is learning extended for students who are already proficient?

• Team's take collective responsibility for every student's success, so students are shared for interventions & extensions.

• Students are shared from time to time for interventions & extensions, but generally students are kept in homerooms.

• "My students" & "Your students" are kept separated & responsibility is focused toward homeroom teacher
