The Legislative Branch

Just like in the national government, the legislative branch makes the laws. In Georgia, the legislative branch is called the General Assembly. It is just like Congress, especially in the way that it has both the Georgia Senate and the Georgia House of Representatives.

The Executive Branch

The main person of the executive branch is the governor. Much like the president, the governor makes laws official.

​There are also other members of the executive branch that work with the governor. This is the ​Lieutenant governor, Secretary of state, Attorney general, State school superintendent, and the commissioners of agriculture, insurance, and labor. These people work with the governor and help him govern the state of Georgia. The president has people like this too, his group of people is called a Cabinet.
