Course Description

  • Aim: develop students’ competence to assist in procedures necessary to advance the causes of saints 

  • Scope:

    • preliminary concepts and ideas relevant to beatification and canonization

    • exposition of the juridical development of canonization from the Early Church to the 1980’s.

    • pertinent canonical and extra-codal substantive and procedural norms pertaining to causes of saints.

    • different officials and personnel involved in the causes of saints, their qualifications, competence, and tasks are discussed.
