​ASKING OPININON

​asking artinya meminta sedangkan opinion memiliki arti opini/pendapat. Apabila kedua kata tersebut digabung, asking opinion berarti “meminta pendapat” atau “menanyakan pendapat”. Asking opinion digunakan ketika kamu ingin bertanya atau membutuhkan pendapat dari orang lain.

Key word of expression asking Opinion​

• What are your thoughts on …? (Apa pendapatmu tentang …?)

• What is your point of view? (Apa sudut pandangmu?)

• What/how do you think/reckon about …? (Bagaimana menurutmu mengenai …?)

• How do you think of my idea? (Bagaimana pendapatmu tentang ideku?)

• What is your opinion? (Apa pendapat/opini kamu?)

Contoh Expression of Accepting Opinion (agreement):

1. I agree with your opinion (saya setuju dengan pendapatmu) 

2. That’s a good opinion (itu adalah pendapat yang bagus)

3. I have same opinion with you (saya punya pendapat yang sama denganmu)

4. Your opinion is totally correct (pendapatmu sangat benar)

Contoh Expression of Refusing Opinion (disagreement):

1. I don’t think so (aku pikir tidak begitu) 

2. That’s a good opinion but, …. (itu adalah pendapat yang bagus tapi, ….)

3. I am not really sure about your opinion (aku sedikit ragu dengan pendapatmu)

4. I have dif erent point of you with you (aku punya pendapat yang berbeda denganmu)

Tommy : I’m reading a newspaper.

Emily : Any good news?

Tommy : I’ve just read about full day school.

Emily : So what your opinion about that?

Tommy : In my view, it is useful for Indonesian education development. Because if school time is extended until 4 or 5 PM, students can learn more. So, Indonesia’s educational ranking in the world can be increased.

Emily : Do you think like that? But how about the students? Don’t you think it is too boring for them? In school all day.

Tommy : No, If the teacher can bring class situation more fun, giving them exciting activities, so the student will enjoy their day in school.

Emily : I think you’re right
