The Inner Planets

·         The four inner planets are mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.

·         They are known as terrestrial planets because the are made up of rock.

·         Of these four planets, earth is the only one with an atmosphere.

·         The Earth also has oxygen, water and carbon, which is essential for life.

​The outer Planets

•  The Outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

• These planets are huge and are known as the gas giants.
