Can vs Could

​What is the difference between 'can' and 'could'?

​1. Could used to tell the activity that happen in the past

Ex: ​When I was child, I could play marble

​2. 'Could' can be used to tell that the activity happen at present but as possibilities (something uncertain)

Ex: He could play a guitar​

​3. 'Could' can be used to tell capabilities more polite

Ex: ​My father could run fast
