Lesson HHE Active Vocabulary

Lesson Objective:

I will write sentences using the unit's vocabulary words

Language objective: I will be able to use the vocabulary correctly in a sentence and record that sentence in my composition notebook.

CFS:

  1. Think of a sentence using the word

  2. think and draw a picture that helps me understand the meaning of the word

  3. TRY

Title: HHE Active Vocabulary

  1. Arrow- show the flow of energy

  2. Mechanical energy- kinetic and potential energy combined

  3. Elastic potential energy- energy that is stored in a spring or rubber band

  4. Gravitational potential energy- energy stored in an object due to its position

  5. Chemical energy- energy released during a chemical reaction

  6. Kinetic energy- energy due to motion

  7. potential energy- energy stored

  8. Transfer- to move from one place to another

  9. Law of Conservation of energy- energy can not be created nor destroyed, only transferred.

Directions:

  1. follow the format

  2. Format: 1. word

    1. Definition of word

    2. use word in a sentence- not the definition of the word here

    3. draw a picture that helps you understand the meaning of the word.

  3. SKIP A LINE

  4. Repeat!!

17

EXAMPLE:

  1. Arrow

    1. showing the flow of energy

    2. When drawing the transfer of energy, you use an arrow to show where the energy flows to.

    3. DRAW A PICTURE OF THE SENTENE YOU JUST CREADTED...... OR ..... A PICTURE THAT WILL HELP YOU REMEMBER THE MEANING OF THE WORD ARROW!!!!

18

ALL OF THIS IS DONE IN YOUR SCIENCE NOTEBOOK!!!

ON THE NEXT AVAILABE PAGE

TITLE: ENERGY TRANSFER ACTIVE VOCABULARY.

19

ON THE NEXT SLIDE ARE THE WORDS AGAIN.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM IN NOTECARD FORM TOO!!!
