Integrated Task

You are asked to read a passage about a topic and listen to a short lecture about the same topic. Then you have 20 minutes to write a summary of the lecture and to relate it to the passage.

You will have 3 minutes to read, the listening will last 2 minutes, and you will have to write between 150 and 225 words.​

TIPS

• While reading, look for the main idea and take notes on key points.

• While listening, take notes and listen for information that responds to the passage.

• Make sure to always answer the question.​

• Practice praphrasi​ng.

Independent Task

You are asked one question about your opinion on an issue and you are given 30 minutes to write an essay of at least 300 words.

You must always use specific reasons and examples.​

TIPS

• Write an outline. First, choose your opinion and think of 3 reasons why you prefer that. Then give one example per reason.

• After writing, check your grammar and vocabulary for mistakes.​
