​The term ''Parts of Speech'' refer to words that perform different functions in a sentence to give the sentence a proper meaning and structure. The "Parts of Speech" indicates how the word functions in meaning as well as grammatically within the sentence.

​How many "Parts of Speech" are there?

There are 8 "Parts of Speech" including nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives​, conjunctions, prepositions and interjections. However, articles are not included in the​ "Parts of Speech".
