A noun all by itself? Now, that would be boring! That's a good thing we have adjectives: they describe nouns and allow us to paint a vivid picture. Purple, amazing, and humongous are all examples of adjectives.

Adjectives typically answer one of four questions:

How many? Sophie bought two cookies.

How much? Abby added some sugar.

Which one? Vinne that book to class.

What kind? Blake took a long nap.
