In order for a civilization to thrive, it must have a reliable way to feed its people, and it must have people who can do specific jobs.
Places to Live
Settlements lead to villages and then to cities from which civilizations expand.
Institutions
One characteristic of civilizations is the formation of institutions such as government and religion.
Writing
Writing down and keeping track of information in an ordered way is important in any civilization.
Technology
Developing new ways to do or produce things involves technology, which improves as civilizations emerge.

Work began on this structure around 3000B.C.E, and it went through six different stages of construction, ending in1520B.C.E its name, Stonehenge, comes from the Saxon sten-hangen and means “stonehanging.” It is one of the most impressive prehistoric megaliths, or stone monuments, in the world. Theories abound regarding its purpose, ranging from use for astronomy to healing to a seasonal meeting place for Neolithic and Bronze Age groups in the area.
