Rich Man and Lazarus
“There was a rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate lay a poor man named Laz′arus, full of sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table; moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried; and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abraham far off and Laz′arus in his bosom. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy upon me, and send Laz′arus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Laz′arus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish."
Luke 16:19-25 RSVCE

Rich man = "individual or sector of society that fails to realize that everyone has a right to avail himself or herself of the goods of this world so as to live a dignified life."
Meaning
This principle is the starting-point for understanding the great parables of Jesus. The rich man begs from his place of torment that his brothers be informed about what happens to those who simply ignore the poor man in need. Jesus takes up this cry for help as a warning to help us return to the right path.
Deus Caritas est, 15

Reminder: fundamental principle of moral teaching - The dignity of the human person and that we are social creatures.
"This means that we are made for communion - for family and friendship with others - and find our perfection not in isolation but rather by living in society."
11
The Family
Our first experience of this communion is in our family which is the fundamental unit of society and exists as an institution prior to civil authority.
It is in the family one first sees humanity's social nature.
This means we are also not fundamentally in competition with each other, nor is one's good a bad for another.

Universal Destination of Goods:
"In his use of things man should regard the external goods he legitimately owns not merely as exclusive to himself but common to others also, in the sense that they can benefit others as well as himself. The ownership of any property makes its holders a steward of Providence, with the task of making it fruitful and communicating its benefits to others, first of all his family." -CCC, 2404

Principle of Subsidiarity
"The teaching of the Chuch has elaborated the principles of subsidiarity, according to which 'a community of a higher order should not interfere in the internal life of a community of a lower order, depriving the latter of its functions, but rather should support it in case of need and help to co-ordinate its activity with the activites of the rest of society, always with a view to the common good." - CCC, 1883
