The essays will always provide you articles/passages to read and a writing prompt for you to respond to.

Read the prompt first so that as you read you start picking out the info that you will use in your essay.​

The essay should be organized

Make sure your essay is broken down into 3 general sections. The introduction (1 paragraph), the body (2-3 paragraphs) and the conclusion (1 paragraph).

2. Give 2-3 clear reasons why you picked that side

​You need 2 things:

​Introduction (1 paragraph)

1. Repeat reason you will be addressing.

2. Give evidence from the article that supports your reason

3. Give a personal example that relates to the reason​

   REPEAT WITH EACH REASON YOU LISTED IN THE INTRO IN THE SAME ORDER​

• ​Go back and read your essay out loud. You are checking for grammar/spelling errors and checking that it flows well. If you are struggling to read, it's because you should be editing.

• Double check that you have completed everything in the outline.

• Check that your writing is legible​.
