Mood | The emotion/ feeling of the reader. |
Tone | The attitude a writer takes toward the subject of his writing, the characters in it, or the audience. Tone is usually expressed through a speaker or narrator. |

Connotation | The emotions tied to a word. |
Denotation | The dictionary definition of a word. |
