En inglés podemos usar “be going to” para transmitir una idea de futuro. Aunque hay muchas formas de expresar ideas en futuro en inglés.
Esta estructura tiene dos funciones principalmente.
Planes futuros que ya hemos decidido. Refleja las intenciones del hablante para el futuro, aunque no necesariamente significa que ya hayamos empezado los preparativos, o que esas cosas vayan a suceder de verdad:
When I'm older, I'm going to be an astronaut!
In two years' time, I'm going to move to Madrid
Next weekend I'm going to sleep until really late!
Predicciones en base a lo que vemos en el presente:
If she's not careful she's going to knock that glass over
It's very cold outside - I think it's going to snow
Clare's birthday party is going to be great - she was showing me the restaurant online

Rules with this structure
Affirmative: Subject+be+going to+Verb+Complements
Negative: Subject+be+NOT+ going to+Verb+Complements
Interrogative: Be+subject+going to +Verb+Complements

The future with "going to" is used to express events you have already planned in the future and your intentions for the future. We sometimes also use the present continuous for planned events in the near future.
Examples:
She's going to attend university and study to become a doctor.
We're going to make the presentation next week.
